Musa in the Thicket

It’s hiding, there in the thicket.  Do you see it?  It just moved.  It’s rather shy today – but at least it’s come to the clearing.  Maybe it will come out and sit for a little palaver; or maybe it will just run in, bite, and run away.  But at least it came, at least it’s here, the little muse.

Perhaps it has come merely to watch this tower that’s being built, this safe place to store what it has carried with it, what it has communicated to those gifted with pen.  Perhaps it has no interest in those milling about the clearing today, except to take note of who comes and who goes and who stays to read a while.  I wonder if it is pleased at the tower and what it represents.

I think it may stay hidden awhile yet, and that’s ok.  There is plenty to see here, plenty to do.  And more is arriving all the time.  Perhaps, just perhaps, if you sit still and read, pretend the muse isn’t hiding over there in the thicket, perhaps it will come out and sit by you for a bit.

So, stay awhile, Dear Reader, and maybe you will be touched by a muse.
